Muvid-19 |  Media Arts and Pandemics – Alexander Grebtschenko

Contemporary Music Lab presents the German composer and director of the electronic music studio at the Music University of Freiburg, Alexander Grebtschenko.

On Tuesday, May 17th, 20:00, Alexander Grebtschenko will give a lecture at the Department of Music Studies of AUTh on “Electronic Music Beyond the loudspeakers”

Two experimental films will be screened on Wednesday, May 18th at 20:30 at the cinema “Tonia Marketaki” (Warehouse D, Port of Thessaloniki). The first one is an audio-stereoscopic film poem by Telemach Wiesinger with music by Alexander Grebtschenko. The second film is a project in progress called Muvid-19, and it consists of a collection of 180 short music videos, 19 seconds each, created by various artists during the first phase of the pandemics, an initiative of the Institute of New Music at the University of Music in Freiburg and the artistic curation of A. Grebtschenko.

Ableton Live is known as a popular electronic music software, but is it only limited to the genre? Prof. Dr. Mehmet Can Özer is exploring Live 11 from the perspective of a contemporary composer and invites people to think out of the box. These masterclasses are official Ableton events worldwide with the collaboration of the music departments.

Μουσική και Έρευνα – Διάλεξη του Daniel Teruggi

Το Εργαστήριο Σύγχρονης Μουσικής (ΕΣΜ) σε συνεργασία με το Εργαστήριο Τεχνολογιών του Ήχου και της Μουσικής (ΕΤΗΜ), διοργανώνει μια διάλεξη του Daniel Teruggi. Ο Daniel Teruggi υπήρξε διευθυντής (1997-2007) του ιστορικού ινστιτούτου ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής Groupe de Recherches Musicales (GRM) που ιδρύθηκε το 1958 από τον Pierre Schaeffer. H σχέση του με το GRM ξεκινάει το 1980, όπου και προτοεισήλθε στο χώρο και παρακολούθησε από εκεί στενά την εξέλιξη της τεχνολογίας τις αλλαγές που αυτή επέφερε στη στη μουσική. Στην παρουσίαση του, θα αναφερθεί το GRM και τις μουσικές ιδέες που το περιέβαλαν και θα παρουσιάσει την μουσική του, τόσο ακουστική όσο και ηλεκτροακουστική. Κατά τη διάρκεια της καριέρας του, διατήρησε στενή σχέση ανάμεσα στη σύνθεση και την έρευνα καθώς αυτοί οι δύο τομείς αλληλοτροφοδοτούνται με τις πλούσιες δυνατότητες της τεχνολογίας και τις πάντα πρωτότυπες προσεγγίσεις των μουσικών.
