Ο διεθνώς καταξιωμένος συνθέτης και καθηγητής σύνθεσης της Ακαδημίας του Freiburg Johannes Schöllhorn στα πλαίσια του ευρωπαϊκού εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος Erasmus+ μιλάει για το συνθετικό του έργο.

Ο Johannes Schöllhorn γεννήθηκε το 1962, σπούδασε σύνθεση με τους Klaus Huber, Emanuel Nunes και Mathias Spahlinger, μουσική θεωρία με τον Peter Förtig ενώ παρακολούθησε μαθήματα μουσικής διεύθυνσης με τον Peter Eötvös.

Το συνθετικό του έργο περιλαμβάνει μεγάλο εύρος μουσικών ειδών, από μουσική δωματίου, φωνητική και ορχηστρική μουσική μέχρι μουσικό θέατρο. Πέραν των δικών του συνθέσεων έχει εργασθεί σε διάφορα είδη μεταγραφών (Τranskompositionen) έργων από τη μουσική της Αναγέννησης μέχρι και τη σύγχρονη μουσική. Η μουσική του έχει ερμηνευθεί από σημαντικούς σολίστ, μουσικά σύνολα και ορχήστρες όπως Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Ensemble l’instant donné, Remix Ensemble, ensemble recherche, Neue Vocalsolisten ensemble ascolta, Neue Ensemble, τις Ραδιοφωνικές Ορχήστρες της WDR και SWR, , την DSO Berlin, την Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, την Philharmonia Orchestra London και την BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
Έχει τιμηθεί με βραβεία όπως το Comitée de lecture του Ensemble Intercontemporain το 1997 και το Praetorius Prize 2009. Η όπερα δωματίου “les petites filles modèles” έχει παιχθεί πολλές φορές στην Γαλλία και πρωτοπαρουσιάσθηκε στην Opera de Bastille το 1997. Το 2008 συμμετείχε στο “into”-project στο Hong Kong.

Ο Johannes Schöllhorn δίδαξε από το 1995 μέχρι 2000 στην Musikhochschule Zürich-Winterthur. Υπήρξε μαέστρος του Ensemble für Neue Musik στην Musikhochschule Freiburg (μέχρι το 2004), από το 2001 μέχρι το 2009 καθηγητής σύνθεσης στην Hochschule für Musik und Theater του Ανοβέρου και διευθυντής του Institut für neue Musik “incontri”. Από το 2009 μέχρι το 2017 υπήρξε καθηγητής σύνθεσης και διευθυντής του Institut für Neue Musik στην Hochschule für Musik und Tanz στην Κολωνία. Από τον Οκτώβριο του 2017 ο Johannes Schöllhorn είναι καθηγητής σύνθεσης και διευθυντής του Institut für Neue Musik στην Musikhochschule Freiburg.

O Johannes Schöllhorn έχει δώσει διάφορα σεμινάρια σύνθεσης σε σημαντικά μουσικά ιδρύματα ανά τον κόσμο όπως Fondation Royaumont (Γαλλία), Bartók-Festival (Ουγγαρία), Schloss Solitude (Γερμανία), Ictus-Seminar (Βέλγιο), Conservatoire de Paris (Γαλλία), Trinity Laban College στο London (Αγγλία), Central Conservatory of Music στο Πεκίνο και Conservatory of Music στην Σαγκάη (Κίνα), στο Hong Kong, Takefu-Festival και το Πανεπιστήμιο Tokyo Ondai (Ιαπωνία), την Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (Κορέα), το Centro San Fedele Milano (Ιταλία) στο Lugano (CH), Kiev (Ουκρανία), Jakarta (Ινδονησία) και Manila (Φιλιπίνες).

COMPOSER’S LECTURE ABOUT HIS MUSIC

Τhe internationally acclaimed composer and professor of composition of the Musikhochschule Freiburg in the framework of the European Educational Program Erasmus+ talks about his music.

Born in 1962, he studied with Klaus Huber, Emanuel Nunes and Mathias Spahlinger and musical theory with Peter Förtig. He also attended conducting courses with Peter Eötvös.
Johannes Schöllhorns music has a wide range of genres from chamber music, vocal music and orchestra music to music for theatre. Besides his own compositions he is also working on different kinds of transkompositions of music from Renaissance until music of today.
His music is performed by many international Soloists, Ensembles and Orchestras like Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Musikfabrik, Ensemble l’instant donné, Remix Ensemble, ensemble recherche, Neue Vocalsolisten ensemble ascolta, das Neue Ensemble, the Radio Symphony Orchestras of the WDR and SWR, the DSO Berlin, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra London and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. He awarded prizes like the Comitée de lecture of the Ensemble Intercontemporain in 1997 and the Praetorius Prize 2009. His chamber opera “les petites filles modèles” was played many times in Paris and France and had its premiere at the Opera de Bastille in 1997. In 2008 he was participant of the “into”-project in Hong Kong.
Johannes Schöllhorn was teaching from 1995 to 2000 at the Musikhochschule Zürich-Winterthur (CH). He was conductor of the Ensemble für Neue Musik at the Musikhochschule Freiburg (until 2004) and from 2001 to 2009 he was Professor for composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover and Director of the Institut für neue Musik “incontri”. From 2009 to 2017 he was Professor for composition and director of the Institut für Neue Musik at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Since October 2017 Johannes Schöllhorn is Professor of Composition and Director of the Institut für Neue Musik at the Musikhochschule Freiburg.
Johannes Schöllhorn gave several composition courses i.e. at the Fondation Royaumont (F) and at the Bartók-Festival (HU), at Schloss Solitude (D), at the Ictus-Seminar (B), the Conservatoire de Paris (F), the TrinityLaban College in London (GB), the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and the Conservatory of Music Shanghai (China), in Hong Kong, at the Takefu-Festival and the Tokyo Ondai University (Japan), the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (Korea), at the Centro San Fedele Milano (Italy) in Lugano (CH), Kiev (Ukraine), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Manila (Philippines).
